At G5 Showpigs, we are very intentional about every boar we bring onto the farm—especially when it comes to breeds we use selectively. With our limited Chester footprint, adding a Chester boar has to make sense on every level. Keystone does exactly that.

Acquired from P5 Showpigs, Keystone was a boar that caught our attention early—not because he fit the typical Chester mold, but because he didn’t. From the first videos we saw, his stride, flexibility, and athleticism immediately stood out. He simply did not move like the average Chester boar, and it was clear his upside was far greater than what the breed stereotype often suggests.

That early impression has only been reinforced since his arrival. Keystone is every bit as impressive in person as he is in pictures and video. He combines true breed character with a modern build—bringing unmatched width, body dimension, density, and scale while still maintaining correctness and balance.

Even with limited use over the past few years, Keystone has already proven himself where it matters most. His progeny include multiple winners at Texas majors, along with consistent success at county and district shows. That level of impact, despite not being heavily promoted or widely used, speaks volumes about the kind of sire he is.

From a structural standpoint, Keystone checks every box. Even at roughly 600 pounds, he moves freely and confidently across the yard, with excellent foot size, joint integrity, and overall durability. That strength and mobility give us confidence not only in his longevity, but in the kind of sound, functional offspring he can generate.

At G5, we plan to utilize Keystone strategically—capitalizing on his ability to add shape, mass, and presence without sacrificing structure or flexibility. We believe his influence can elevate the Chester breed and complement a wide range of sow types.
